In an effort to produce the strongest, most indestructible knife available, the Model 1 is fully machined from a solid piece of 440C stainless steel bar stock. The blade thickness is left at 1/4" to provide maximum strength. The one-piece design features an integral double guard. The blade is hollow ground and sharpened to a razor edge. Put all of this together and you have one of the strongest knives, if not the strongest, on the market.
